This 12V rooftop air conditioner is the right choice if you camp in hot, humid weather and want to lower the inside temperature of your Freedom Camper. Unlike our 12V vent fan, this system uses a compressor to deliver real air conditioning, making it the better solution for summer camping, sleeping in high heat, and staying comfortable when airflow alone isn't enough.

Choose the 12V Air Conditioner if:

If your goal is to reduce the interior temperature in summer heat, a fan alone is usually not enough. This 12V air conditioner is the better fit for customers who want true climate control rather than basic airflow.

Battery Requirements and Performance

The battery is sold separately. For optimal performance, a 300Ah or larger lithium battery system is recommended. Based on real-world testing, this unit will run for approximately 1 hour per 10 Ah of battery capacity. Actual runtime will vary based on ambient temperature, insulation, and usage settings.

The unit can run off a compatible 12V power station. However, we recommend using a dedicated battery system instead. Most portable power stations are not large enough to support extended runtimes, and purchasing one with sufficient capacity is typically much less economical than a properly sized lithium battery setup.

The battery is sold separately. We recommend using a 300Ah LiFePO4 battery or larger for optimal performance and runtime.

We recommend a minimum 300Ah lithium battery system for optimal performance. As a general guideline, this unit will run for approximately 1 hour per 10Ah of battery capacity under typical conditions. Larger battery banks will provide longer runtime.

This unit includes a built-in heating function rated at approximately 4,500 BTU, making it suitable for cooler weather and extending your camping season.

Note: The 12V camper fan helps circulate air and improve ventilation, but it does not create cold air. This rooftop AC unit is designed to actually cool the interior of your Freedom Camper, making it the better option when outside temperatures are high, and ventilation alone will not keep you comfortable.
